About This Place

Mariscos Puerto Vallarta 2, nestled in the heart of Gilroy, CA, is a vibrant seafood haven that beautifully captures the essence of authentic Mexican coastal cuisine. As a dedicated seafood restaurant, it offers an extensive menu brimming with fresh, flavorful delights like the indulgent Molcajete, crispy Mojarra Frita, zesty Shrimp Cocktail, and the ever-popular Tostadas De Camarones. Whether you're craving the smoky richness of Camarones Viagra or the refreshing zest of a Watermelon Margarita, each dish and cocktail here bursts with a vivid, mouthwatering palette that will leave your taste buds dancing.

Walking into Mariscos Puerto Vallarta 2, you instantly sense the lively, bustling atmosphere that customers rave about. The restaurant hums with energy, from the welcoming staff ready to guide you through their vast menu, to the clattering of plates carrying generous servings of seafood concoctions that look as stunning as they taste. Many guests, like Guy Peled, appreciate the abundance and freshness — the portions are hearty and beautifully presented, making every bite a celebration of the sea’s best offerings.

The standout dishes are as diverse as they are delicious. Shrimp lovers delight in the Shrimp Empanadas, praised by Sherry Mendibles for their cheesy, crispy goodness that’s both a comforting and exciting first-time treat. The Aguachile Vallarta and Tostada De Camaron offer a refreshing, tangy kick that seafood aficionados will adore, blending perfectly with the homemade salsas on the table — from a fiery green salsa to a milder red that satisfies every spice level. The seafood soups and mariscadas provide a warming, rich experience, lovingly packed with fresh, varied ingredients that embody the coastal Mexican spirit.

For those celebrating special occasions, like Coach Yes Da Chef Roz who marked a memorable anniversary here, the service is attentive and knowledgeable, providing a personal touch that enhances the meal. The staff’s ability to explain the menu and accommodate guests ensures a comfortable and satisfying dining experience. While the rustic setting might show signs of age, as James Smith notes, it lends an authentic charm, making the fresh seafood and reasonable prices all the more delightful.

Mariscos Puerto Vallarta 2 is a destination for those passionate about seafood done right — rich, fresh, and served with heartfelt hospitality. Whether you’re indulging in a rich Molcajete, sipping on a vibrant Michelada, or sharing a seafood platter with friends and family, this Gilroy gem invites you into a flavorful journey that feels less like just a meal and more like a celebration of the ocean’s bounty.

Was looking for seafood and this hit the spot. Once I stepped in, already guessed it's going to be good - was very busy and lively, and great looking dishes on loaded plates were being rushed in all directions. The menu was huge, and I went for trying a tostada de aguachile, and a seafood soup. Both were much bigger than I thought based on the pictures and price. Both were very fresh and full of flavor. As it was busy, took some time to get attention of a server, but food arrived surprisingly fast. Overall a keeper - now I know where to come back for seafood soup in fall through winter...

We stop here an ate our 3rd year anniversary dinner! We traveled for holiday from Philadelphia Pennsylvania The wait time for an outside table was under 20min wait. due to Cov19 and safety distance of 6ft. Once we got to our table the waiter was there in mins.. we were ready to eat and she took her time and explained the menu to us..we order and the food took no more then 15/20 mins to come out &&&& it was hot and fresh it was very delicious! It was so worth the money time and experience here..???????????????? food was great

A rustic ( meaning, aging, in need of new everything) mariscaria with 1 very nice server, (I assume there are more servers at peak times) kinda cold beer, super frosty mugs and excellent, fresh seafood!!! Gotta go there!! Decent prices as well!!

This is probably the 3rd time we've eaten here and it won't be the last. The menu is basically seafood. If you're into burgers DON'T come here, but there's nuggets for the kids. But if you're a seafood lover, Mexican style..."THIS IS YOUR PLACE". The waitress brought us chips with two types of salsa, green that is very, VERY spicy and a red one that is mild. To name the items on the menu it would be a long list and my words wouldn'tbe making justice, that's why I took pictures of the menu and the dishes that we ordered. My wife ordered the MOLCAJETE FRIO that came with scallops, shrimp, octopus and cayo de hacha, you can order it hot or cold, our daughter ordered the CAMARONES A LA MANTEQUILLA that came with rice and green salad. Our youngest son and myself ordered the CAMPECHANA that had shrimp, octopus and crab (I noticed that it had an odd flavor that I think was from the crab, so next time I'll order it without it and see if that was that changed the flavor). And at the beginning since the four of us couldn't decide what to get from the menu, we decided to order something to go. Which our daughter decided to order the Mojarra Frita, our son ordered the Seafood Pasta, my wife ordered the Empanadas de Camaron with Cheese and I ordered the Filete Empanizado. The prices are reasonable. Only bad thing about this place is that parking is limited. But once you're there, you got it made!!!

This is the reason to stop in Gilroy on your way anywhere. Paloma was excellent, Shrimp and steak Fajitas were top quality HUGE portions. STEAK is the only other option, this is predominantly sea food and it's delightful.

My meal was delicious. It took a very long time to get the knife I requested, though, which was annoying, because I needed it to begin eating. Atmosphere feels more like a refugee camp than a restaurant, as it’s in a big, dark, dingy tent, and the bathroom was dirty and smelled terrible. No bar, so I had to sit at a table by myself, which was a little depressing. BUT, the food was incredible and very reasonably priced, especially for California. Highly recommend the langosta a la diabla. Doubt I’d return, though, at least not alone.
